The class of 2015 at Fairhaven High School has been one of the most academically proficient in the school's history.  The school has earned a "level one" ranking in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and its senior class earned nearly $3 million in scholarships.

Seniors were presented their diploma's on Sunday, and Superintendent Robert Baldwin made it a point to recognize that academic excellence. "Because of the behaviors and actions of our students, and the superior professionalism and direction provided by the adults," said Baldwin, "Fairhaven High School serves as the beacon for educational excellence and shines brightly throughout the Southcoast region, the state and the nation."

There was a somber moment at the end of the ceremony when the family of senior Megan Sargent was presented with her diploma and her drum major's hat. Sargent and Brooklyn Cody Rodrigues were killed in car crash a week ago in Mattapoisett. Sargent was a leader of the band at Fairhaven High School, and was an Honors student.
