Eversource is planning a big move. The energy service provider has signed a purchase and sale agreement for a new mult-service facility in the New Bedford Business Park at the former Konarka Technologies center.

Eversource spokesman Mike Durand tells WBSM News the vacant building will require a lot of upgrading. "Once that's completed, which is going to require a significant amount of upgrade work and renovation, we'll be moving our electric and gas operations from downtown New Bedford along the waterfront," says Durand.

Eversource says the entirety of the move, including purchase and renovation of the 150,000 square foot building, amounts to $15 million.

The company says the renovations will begin immediately, with all operations and employees at the new facility by 2017.
