Electrical Fire Causes Extensive Damage At Country Whip In Acushnet

Fire caused extensive damage to The Country Whip Ice Cream Stand on Routre 105 in Acushnet Saturday afternoon.

In a Facebook post Saturday evening, the owners said the fire broke out in the building's attic, and was electrical in nature. They hope to reopen as soon as possible, but no specific date was mentioned.

They also issued a special "thank you" to Police and Firefighters from Acushnet, Fairhaven and Rochester for their work at the scene.
