Elderly Man Pinned Under Car After Fall River Crash

An elderly man is pinned under a car following a crash in Fall River.

Fall River Police say just after 11am Thursday, officers were dispatched to the accident in the area of 92 Pitman Street, where they found an 84-year-old man pinned beneath a parked vehicle. The man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with reported life-threatening injuries.

The investigation by police revealed a family member of the victim was backing the car out of the driveway at 92 Pitman Street after experiencing a mechanical issue. While the car was backing out, it struck the victim and a parked car on the street. As a result, the victim became trapped underneath the car.

The incident remains under investigation by Fall River Police and Accident Reconstruction Specialists.
