Ed Markey Opens Office In New Bedford, Touts Southcoast Rail

Count Mass. Congressman Edward Markey as a supporter of Southcoast Rail.

Democrat Markey is running for the U-S Senate seat vacated by John Kerry.

Markey was in New Bedford Saturday to open a campaign office on Pleasant Street.

He says Southcoast Rail will give a much needed boost to the region's economy.....

During his stop in New Bedford, Markey was endorsed by State Representative's Antonio Cabral and Paul Schmid.

Also vying for the Democratic nomination for Senate is Congressman Stephen Lynch of South Boston.
