The Ebola outbreak is receiving the highest alert from the Centers for Disease Control. The "level 1 activation" is reserved for the most dangerous public health emergencies.

All hands are on deck for the Ebola virus as hundreds of CDC employees have shifted their focus to this deadly outbreak. The virus is believed to have killed close to a thousand people in Africa.

Meanwhile, President Obama says the deadly Ebola virus is controllable if a strong public health infrastructure is in place.

The president was asked about the Ebola outbreaks in Africa during a news briefing at the State Department. He called it a brutal and deadly virus and noted that the U.S. and allies will continue doing everything possible to help Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone deal with it.
