The director of the CDC claims the deadly Ebola virus can be controlled and stopped. In a House hearing, Dr. Tom Frieden said it must be stopped at its source in Africa and called the situation an unprecedented crisis.

Frieden said the spread can be stopped through a specific process that includes isolation, testing and meticulous follow-up care. Frieden is confident that there will not be a large Ebola outbreak in the U.S. The outbreak has killed more than 900 people in four countries on the African continent.

Frieden noted that Ebola cannot spread through airborne contact. He said it is spread primarily through infectious bodily fluids.
