NEW BEDFORD — An East Freetown man is arrested for operating under the influence, among other charges, after police say he struck multiple vehicles even while driving on three wheels.

New Bedford Police arrested Robert Wilson, 38, of 191 Braley Road, East Freetown on Thursday for operating under the influence, second offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Wilson was operating a 2005 Ford F150 east on Court Street when he struck two parked vehicles. He then fled the scene, continuing to operate his vehicle east on Court Street, driving on three wheels. He struck a third parked vehicle across the street from 201 Cottage Street. He then fled the scene, continuing north on Cottage Street, where he struck another vehicle at the intersection of Cottage and Mill Streets, finally disabling his vehicle so he could not travel any further.

When he finally stopped, police determined through their investigation that he was under the influence of alcohol.

Wilson was charged with OUI liquor by Avon Police in 2015. His case was continued without a finding.

Thursday's arrest happened at 9:22 p.m.
