A local stakeholders group has submitted its recommendations for a turnaround plan for New Bedford High School  to Supt. Dr. Pia Durkin.

Durkin says she appreciated how a culture of excellance resonated throughout the recommendations although she reserved comments on any specifics until she can study them in depth.

She tells WBSM News a 50% change in the staff at the high school is still on the table.

Durkin has 30 days to present a draft turnaround plan to the School Committee and Mitchell Chester, the Commissioner of the state Dept. of Elementary and Secondary Education.

She adds any changes won't take effect until the next school year.
