Durfee Assistant Coach Accused Of Rape Of A Child

An assistant basketball and football coach at Durfee High School has been charged with raping a pre-teen girl over a two year period. 

Thirty-four year old James Lee was arraigned Monday in Fall Rver District Court.  According to the Herald News, Lee is facing several charges including rape of a child with force and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. 

Judge Robert Welch set bail at $50,000 because of the seriousness of the allegations.  In the event Lee does make bail, the judge ordered him to stay away from the victim and her mother for one year. 

The case was continued till Janary 2nd for a probable cause hearing.  Lee's attorney thought the bail figure was excessive and  planned to appeal.  .
