Police have arrested a man in connection with their investigation into more than 20 robberies at Dunkin' Donuts stores over several months.

Canton police said Isaiah Murphy, 23, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Stoughton District Court. He faces armed robbery charges and is being held at the Canton police station.

Police got a warrant to conduct a search of Murphy's Dedham home Tuesday morning and obtained an arrest warrant after that.

Police from more than a dozen communities joined in the investigation.

The robberies started in March when a Westwood shop was hit.

Police had initially described the thief as wearing a baggy sweatshirt and mask, and armed with a knife or gun. They also said the thief showed an apparent familiarity with store layouts and procedures.
