A dryer has been destroyed following a fire at Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.

Bourne Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Carrara tells WBSM News that crews were called out to the school around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival crews found the fire in a commercial dryer in the rear garage area of the school.

Crews were able to put down the fire and keep it confined to the rear garage area.

Carrara says the fire caused an estimated $5,000 in damage but no injuries were reported.

The Superintendent's office has confirmed that school is open today.
