And they know the fires aren't going to put themselves out, but what do you do when the water source for the fire department is so low the fire hydrants go plum dry? That's the problem in nearby Tiverton, Rhode Island, and now it's become a safety issue.

The pipe that brings water to the fire hydrants is above the water because of the severe drought, so the Tiverton Fire Department can't draft the water out of Nonquit Pond. So far, no major fires have threatened the community, but with a dozen calls a day, their luck may run out, like the water.
