A New Bedford man was arrested and drugs were seized Wednesday night following an investigation into a drug delivery service.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that at approximately 6 p.m. two search warrants were executed by members of the Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau.

One warrant was for a 2005 Chevy Malibu that was stopped on State Rd. in Dartmouth.

The driver and owner of the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Nicholas Beiruti, taken into custody without incident.

The other warrant was for a room at the Moby Dick motel on State Rd. in Dartmouth.

A search of the motel room leads to the seizure of 23 grams of heroin, 2 grams of cocaine, suboxone strips, and $972.

Officers also found a digital scale and packaging material.

Vicente says Beiruti was running the drug delivery service and meeting customers in various business parking lots along Route 6.

Beiruti is facing charges of Trafficking heroin, Possession of cocaine and suboxone and driving with a suspended license.

He is also being charged as a subsequent offender for a previous conviction in 2012.

Beiruti is currently being held as a fugitive from justice from Orange County, Florida where he is wanted on burglary charges.
