Drug Bust in Fairhaven School Zone

A Fairhaven man is busted on drug charges after several police forces descended on his home Wednesday.

According to Fairhaven Sgt. Kevin Kobza, detectives from Fairhaven, Acushnet, and Dartmouth along with investigators from the Bristol County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at 4 School Street within close proximity to Hastings Middle School around noon Wednesday, seizing 24 grams of crack cocaine, a digital scale, and drug packaging materials.

Arrested was 35-year-old Maurice Truell, who was driving away from the home with a suspended license at the time.

Truell is charged with trafficking cocaine, school zone violations, and other charges.
