Drug Arrest On Route 24 In Brockton

State Troopers stop a taxi cab for a traffic violation on Route 24 in Brockton Thursday night, and end up arresting the passenger and seizing 100 grams of suspected heroin.

State Police say 26 year old Damien Cortez of Boston ran from the cab into a wooded area along Route 24.  Troopers apprehended Cortez in the woods, and discovered a vacuum-sealed bag with the words "100 china white" stamped on it.

Cortez was booked at the Middleboro barracks on drug charges and will be arraigned in Brockton District Court.   The cab driver was cited for speeding.
