NARCAN was administered after New Bedford police say another driver was found unresponsive due to drug use.

Lt. Amos Melo says that at around 8 a.m. Saturday police received a report of an erratic driver.

An officer arrived at the 500 block of West Rodney French Blvd. and found a vehicle facing south in the north bound lane.

The driver, 49-year-old Jose Amorin of New Bedford, was found unresponsive and was administered NARCAN by the New Bedford Fire Department.

Police say an uncapped needle was also found in the vehicle.

Amorin was taken to St. Lukes Hospital due to being administered NARCAN, but no damages or injuries were reported.

Melo says Amorin is facing charges of operating under the influence of drugs and operating to endanger.

The Registry of Motor Vehicles was also sent an immediate threat form for revocation of Amorin's license.
