NEW BEDFORD — The owner of Sanctum Folklorica on Purchase Street in New Bedford believes her business was specifically targeted for vandalism this week.

Jodi "Lucky" Ventura told WBSM that someone use a piece of asphalt to damage the front door and two windows at the store. Ventura said that no one gained access to the shop.  She also said that no other businesses in the neighborhood were damaged, which was confirmed by the New Bedford Police Department.

Sanctum Folklorica is a witch shop that has been opened since February of this year.  Ventura said the shop caters to modern day witches as well as old folklore traditions.

The store's owner told us that there have been a couple of accusations of "devil worship" but she said that is far from the truth. Ventura pointed out that when those accusers come into the shop, she explains that it is a "spiritual" shop, and most of those people leave feeling satisfied. She said some have become regular customers.

Sanctum Folklorica has reopened for business.
