Downtown New Bedford Free Holiday Parking

The City of New Bedford is once again offering free 2 hour parking downtown and in the North End through the first of the year. It's an effort to encourage people to shop locally. Free parking will be at metered spaces in both Downtown and Acushnet Avenue as well as free 2 hour parking at the Elm Street and Zeiterion Garages. Anyone who parks Downtown or on Acushnet Avenue and recieves a ticket because of parking more than the 2 hours can mail or bring their reciept for $10 or more from a Downtown or North End store to the New Bedford Traffic Commission at 51 Elm Street and the ticket will be forgiven.
