Dookhan Plea Deal Terms Announced

Indicted state chemist Annie Dookhan could get a five year maximum jail sentence if she pleads guilty in the state drug lab scandal. Judge Carol Bell announced the terms of the deal Wednesday. Defense lawyer Nicholas Gordon had pushed for one-year-plus-probation, while prosecutors wanted up to seven years in state prison. Gordon pleaded for leniency, saying his client was terrified at the prospect of being behind bars.
