The tree outside New Bedford City Hall was covered with pink lights Tuesday night symbolizing the ongoing effort to end domestic violence.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Women's Center Director Pamela Macleod-Lima is hoping the message is sinking in....

After a brief speaking program, about 100 survivors and their supporters took part in a silent candlelight march to the First Unitarian Church downtown, where a memorial program was held for Mass. Victims of Domestic Violence.

The service also featured the Clothsline Project, a display of tee-shirts created by survivors, often containing emotional messages about what they've experienced.
