Dog Helps Save Owner

LUCY
WHDH TV

A Massachusetts man is alive, thanks in part to his trusty pooch.  John Miles was walking “Lucy” in Dorchester just before Thanksgiving when both he and the dog were hit by a car.  Miles was knocked unconscious, but Lucy managed to limp with a broken leg to a nearby dentist’s office and bark for help.  She then dragged her way back to John’s side and waited for emergency crews to arrive.  Miles wasn’t carrying any identification, so authorities used Lucy’s ID tags to figure out who they were.  The husky-beagle mix and her owner are both recuperating from numerous injuries.
