Does Trouble with Plant Seeds Mean More Government Interference?

They have names like Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, Blue Morning Glory and Sleepy Grass. According to police, students have been ingesting these plant seeds to hallucinate, get high. They're dropping legal seeds like acid. In fact, according to the cops, the seeds contain two of the chemical compounds in LSD, the L and the S.

The Home Depot in Somerset has agreed to halt sales these legal seeds pending notification from the corporate office. The last I knew, The Home Depot in Seekonk is continuing seed sales, business as usual. The Home Depot is a private company. If they decide to not sell Sleepy Grass that's their business, or loss thereof.

Let's look at the ramifications of the Somerset store move. They stop selling Blue Morning Glory (the 2016 semi version of Purple Haze). Young and old legitimate plant growers go to a different locale to buy their Hawaiian Baby Woodrose and Blue Morning Glory. The Somerset Home Depot loses business to the garden shop down the street. They bitch to the local government. These elected officials say "somethings gotta be done." These officials vote to outlaw the sale of these seeds. Whew! Problem over. Mission accomplished.

Not so quickly. Other folks figure out how to legally get high. They travel from Somerset to ?? to buy their LSA "get high" seeds. The planters travel to nearby cities and towns to get their legitimate planting LSA seeds. Other lawmakers perceive a problem. Now, the state legislature enacts a law making it a crime to sell, plant, manufacture, consume LSA seeds. Whew! Problem over. Mission accomplished.

Not so quickly. Now, we have an epidemic. Sleepy Grass and its companion seeds are legally being bought, planted and ingested nationwide. President Trump declares a national emergency and tells customs agents forget about building a wall along the southern border, go get those bad ass seed poppers. LSA seeds are now the forbidden fruit. Congress authorizes billions of dollars to fight this new war on illegal seeds. Citizens are trained to be the seed police replacing customs agents. They burn seedlings in front of network news cameras. The humanity! New prisons are built. Mrs. Trumps renews the campaign "Just Say No" to plant seeds. The indoctrinators educate students on the side effects of Baby Woodrose and Sleepy Grass.
