The NY Post is reporting that NBC is hoping to woo Katie Couric back to the Today show once her contract with ABC ends in the summer.

Sources say the deal would bring Katie back to fill in for Savannah Guthrie when she goes on maternity leave soon. There is nothing officially in the works suspicions first came about when Couric was seen having chats with Matt Lauer and Savannah at two different parties.

A spokeswoman for NBC told Hollywood Life, "With the Today show in a good place, we are blessed with great talent and many options to temporarily fill Savannah's chair while she's on leave, But there's no plan yet -- stay tuned."
