A police dive team has recovered a gun from the Westport River.

The Dartmouth Police Department posted pictures of a hunting rifle recovered Monday from the Westport River by members of the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council. According to the post, the rifle is believed to have belonged to one of the two duck hunters killed after their boat overturned in January 2014.

Dartmouth Police confirm a recreational diver had recently found the gun and reported it to Westport Police. The SEMLEC team retrieved the gun Monday morning. It's now in the hands of the Westport Police Department.
