Her new historical novel titled, Banners, is the story of the Star Spangled Banner and the Battle of Baltimore, during the War of 1812, when Francis Scott Key wrote his famous poem, "Defence of Fort McHenry." Along with Captain Robert Glover III of the Northeast Maritime Institute, we chatted with Ms. Carey about her very interesting novel that is a fun and educational read!

Diane Carey will be at a two-day book signing starting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23 and 24, at Northeast Maritime Institute, 32 Washington St., in Fairhaven. Diane will be talking about her new book, Banners. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet the author, hear about the fascinating story of the origin of the Star Spangled Banner and the Battle of Baltimore.
