Sec. Richard Davey tells WBSM news, his agency is holding 19 meetings around the state to hear what people think about the Commonwealth's transportation programs.

Several speakers spoke in favor of the Southcoast Rail project.  Others wanted D-O-T to place a greater emphasis on connecting communities through bike paths.  Eileen Marum of the Bristol County Chapter of the Mass. Senior Action Council pushed for more funding for the Southeast Regional Transit Authority.

Sec. Davey says the information gathered at the public meetings will be used to help state officials set funding priorities for the next fiscal year.
