Denis Lawrence Withdraws Application For City Clerk’s Job

Former City Councilor Denis Lawrence has informed the Council President, he is withdrawing his application for the position of City Clerk.

The news of Lawrence's decision has greatly saddened Ward Three Councilor Henry Bousquet.....

The Standard Times first reported Lawrence's decision.  Lawrence could not be reached for comment.

Bousquet says he now favors re-opening the application process, and perhaps naming an Interim Clerk till a permanent clerk is appointed.

City Council President Joseph Lopes says he'll release a statement later Tuesday outlining the Council's next steps.
