Demand Driving Up Cost Of Egg Whites

Egg white prices are soaring.  Analysts say prices for liquid egg whites jumped 80-percent in a year.  One major reason for the jump is the fact that many fast-food restaurants have added low-cholesterol egg sandwiches.

Egg whites have less cholesterol and fewer calories than whole eggs.  The rising demand has hit grocery stores, too.

Some consumers say affordable egg whites are hard to find.
