This week on Kitchen Bites, chef Bob Dillon from the Sail Loft Restaurant in Padanaram shares his delicious recipe for Crock Pot Ginger Pork.  This recipe is easy to follow and will be enjoyed by the whole family.

Crock Pot Ginger Pork ( serves 6 )

Ingredients:

1 Pork Shoulder approx 8 #

1/2# fresh ginger( pealed and chopped fine)

1/2c soy sauce

1c brown sugar

2T Chinese 5 spice

1 1/2 c orange or pineapple juice

 

Method:

Dice the pork shoulder into large 2 inch cubes and place in lg bowl.

Add the ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, 5 spice, and toss together to marinate ( overnight )

Next day put into crock pot early and add the orange or pineapple juice.

Cook on high heat for 6 hrs or low heat for 8 Hrs.

 

My family enjoys fresh cut carrots steamed with butter and plain jasmine rice. It's a simple dish with bold flavors.
