After 45 years, the legendary Del Vikings "Alumni" will be reuniting on the stage of the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center during Todd Baptista's Doo Wop: The Sounds Of The City, Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 pm. I was honored to welcome Todd and The Del Vikings, with hits like, Come Go With Me and Whispering Bells, to my morning show on 1420 WBSM.

We had Joe Lopes of East Freetown, an original member from 1955 - 1958, a retired Polaroid employee. Ritzy Lee, age 80, (joined in 1959 - last performed in 1996). Doug White, age 76 (joined 1960 - last performed in 1996). Terry Young, age 65, (joined in 1969 - last performed in 1973). And we had the youngest member, Broadway veteran Jason Powell.

The four main "Alumni" have never been all together at one time. The last time three of them sang together on stage was 45 years ago! For his 20th anniversary production, Todd wanted to try and put the group together in a historic way and bring them out of retirement. Some members flew in from California and Pennsylvania!

This was an extraordinary and memorable first for me, as well, to have this reunion occur on my radio show! I'm so grateful to each of them!

Other famous stars appearing include, LA LA Brooks, former lead singer of the Crystals (Then He Kissed Me and Da Doo Ron Ron), The New Mystics (Hushabye) with original members Phil Cracolici and George Galfo, The Orlons (Wah Watusi) and the celebrated Jack Colombo "Coast to Coast Band," who'll join these music heroes as they take us back to the time when rock was young!
