Dave Cowens Basketball Awards Nominees Announced

The 24th annual Dave Cowens high school basketball achievement awards were presented last night at New Bedford Voke Tech with more than 30 nominees.

The girls winner was Morgan Lester from Bishop Stang. She was a 3 year varisty starter and averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds a game. Academically she has a 4.0 gpa and is student council president..

The boys winner was Tommy Keyes of Bishop Connolly. He was a 3 year varsity lettermen who led the team in scoring. In the classroom he has maintained a 3.4 gpa and is choosing between U Mass Dartmouth & Salve Regina to play basketball next year..
