Dartmouth Woman Dies Following House Fire

Jim Phillips / TSM

A South Dartmouth woman has died from injuries suffered in a house fire Saturday morning. Police Chief Timothy Lee confirmed the death of 67 year old Patricia Goulart.

Fire officials say the woman was pulled from a single-family home at 5 High Point Lane Saturday morning, and given C-P-R. She was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, but died later that night. The woman’s husband was not at home at the time of the fire.

Damage was estimated at up to $75,000. District One Fire Chief John Judson says the fire is still under investigation, but authorities are leaning toward improper discarding of smoking materials as the cause.
