Dartmouth Teen Killed In Westport Crash

Westport Police say an 18 year old Dartmouth resident was killed late Thursday night when the Mercedes he was driving struck a large tree near 275 Reed Road in Westport.

Police have not released the victim's name pending notification of family members.

The crash happened around 11pm.

Detective Jeff Majewski told the Standard Times, excessive speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Westport Police and the District Attorney's Office are investigating.
