Dartmouth Police are warning residents about a death threat e mail scam. According to Detective Kyle Costa, the sender claims to be a "hitman" who was hired by a friend of the e mail recipient and if the recipient pays a fee, he or she won't be killed. Federal authorities have determined that the vast majority of these emails are "spam" and originate overseas and recipients are stronly encouraged not to respond to them and to contact police if they believe the threat is credible.
