Dartmouth Police are warning residents to be on the lookout after police in Dartmouth have received an increasing amount of calls about car break-ins.

According to WJAR 10, police stated Monday that the activity has occurred in South Dartmouth.

Authorities also noted that it’s important to remember to not leave any valuables inside the car and to lock car doors.

"Also, if your vehicle is equipped with an alarm system, please consider using it, as it not only acts as a deterrent to a potential thief, but also alerts other people in the area if it is activated," according to the Dartmouth Police Department Facebook.

Police are also encouraging residents to keep an eye out and to notify police of any suspicious activity.
