A Dartmouth man faces charges after a vehicle stop in the town over the weekend.

Dartmouth Police say at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Cross Road. While officers spoke with the driver, he allegedly became "argumentative and aggressive towards officers."

Given his demeanor, officers tried to place the man, 62-year-old Daniell Gill of Dartmouth, into custody. Police say Gill became combative and physically assaulted officers.

Gill was eventually restrained and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and threats to commit a crime.

Nobody was injured during the incident.
