A Dartmouth man is being held on $10,000 bail after his arraignment in Fall River Superior Court Friday in connection with a 2015 fatal crash.

The Herald News reports 20 year old Cameron Silva is facing charges of motor vehicle homicide, manslaughter by operating under the influence, and being a minor in possession of alcohol in connection with a fatal car crash in November, 2015.

Police say Silva was the operator of a car that crashed into a wooded area off Copicut Road in Fall River, killing a passenger, 21 year old Jeffrey DeSousa of Dartmouth.

Investigators say Silva was driving 80 miles per hour in a 30 mile an hour zone at the time of the crash.  Medical records from Rhode Island Hospital showed Silva's blood-alcohol level was .19, more than double the legal limit.

Silva was seriously injured himself in the crash, suffering back, neck and shoulder injuries that required multiple surgeries.

At his court appearance on Friday, Silva entered a not guilty plea.  His case was continued to February 26th for a pretrial conference.
