The Baker-Polito administration is announcing more than $3.7 million in grant funding to expand conservation projects across the state.

A grant totaling $232,000 has been awarded to the Town of Dartmouth to preserve a 58-acre wooded parcel off High Hill Road.

State officials say the High Hill Road Project will help create a corridor of protected open space extending from Fall River to Dartmouth and Westport.

State Senator Mark Montigny says the project will link the Southeastern Mass Bioreserve and the Acushnet Cedar Swamp Reservation and give families the chance for more recreational opportunities.
