A 14-year-old boy has been indicted on murder, aggravated rape and armed robbery charges in the death of his popular algebra teacher at Danvers High School.

The indictment issued Thursday charges Philip Chism in the Oct. 22 slaying of 24-year-old Colleen Ritzer.

Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett says the indictments detail horrific and unspeakable acts.

The indictment says Chism, armed with a box cutter, stole Ritzer's credit cards, iPhone and underwear. It also says he sexually assaulted her with an object. A ruling on her exact cause of death is pending.

Chism had moved to Massachusetts from Tennessee before the start of the school year and played on the school's junior varsity soccer team.

Chism had previously pleaded not guilty to a murder charge and is being held without bail. A message seeking comment was left with his attorney. (Associated Press)
