One of my favorite Christmas memories was the annual visit my family made to the Christmas Parade in Quincy when I was a kid.

There were a lot of cool floats and attractions, but the best part was naturally seeing Santa go on by.

The downside was that it was often very cold on the day of the parade and when I had enough of freezing my grandmother would walk me back to her place, which was within walking distance, for some hot chocolate and apple pie.

My brother, who was a bit hardier than I was back in those days, would stay until the very end.

After the last float went by my brother and my shivering parents then made their way back to join us at my grandmother's for some cocoa and what was left of the apple pie.
