The SyFy channel's recent TV movie "Sharknado" may be a far-fetched fantasy, but if a tornado did toss hundreds of sharks into neighborhoods, the damage may be covered by insurance.

According to Consumer Reports, the vice president of media relations at the Insurance Information Institute, Mike Barry, says homeowners insurance would cover damage from a "sharknado" because it's a "wind event." He adds that a shark falling onto your house would also be covered as a "falling object." Additionally, if a sharknado damaged your car, comprehensive auto insurance could cover the damage and your health insurance would likely take care of the costs caused by injuries.

SyFy is rebroadcasting "Sharknado" this Thursday at 7pm. There are also internet reports that a sequel is being written.
