Custom House Square Improvements [AUDIO]

State and local officials including Lt. Governor Tim Murray and Mayor Jon Mitchell gathered in downtown New Bedford Tuesday to announce State funding for the Custom House Square renovation project. It will turn the less than one acre site into a green community space with limited space for parking and events. The Mayor says he has enlisted the expertise of landscape Architect Chris Reed, a New Bedford native, who is donating his services to his hometown. The project is scheduled for completion by next June.
