The President and CEO of Community Foundations of Southeastern Massachusetts is stepping down at the beginning of next year.

Craig Dutra says it's time he begins a new chapter in his life after eleven years at the helm of the foundation.

Dutra says during his tenure, the foundation has grown from having total assets valued at $5.5 million to over $33 million. "We've become the premiere vehicle for people who want to become philanthropic, who don't want to start their own foundation, who want to work with us to help the community," says Dutra.

The New Bedford-based charity has 225 funds, and has distributed grants and scholarships totalling more than $20 million since the beginning of Dutra's presidency in 2004.

Dutra says he has nothing lined up after his last day as the foundation's President on January 31, but will continue to serve as a senior advisor on the foundation's Board of Directors.
