Councilor Lopes Suggests Virtual Classrooms for New Bedford Public Schools
A bill awaiting the signature of Governor Deval Patrick could open the door for Massachusetts public schools to make the switch to cyber-space.

The bill would allow the State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to open no more than ten commonwealth virtual schools.
New Bedford Ward 6 City Councilor Joe Lopes supports such an idea on a local level. Lopes tells WBSM News virtual classrooms provide advantages that wouldn’t otherwise be available.
