New City Council president Bruce Duarte Jr. says he wants to put New Bedford people to work.  The Ward Four Councilor says one of his first priorities as Council President will be to form a Special Committee on Employment Opportunities.  Duarte tells WBSM News, the focus will be on getting more local people working at the Maritime Commerce Terminal project...

Duarte is also demanding that the Mitchell administration provide the Council with more timely information, before the Council approves financial transfers.  Duarte is the first Ward Four Councilor to serve as president in 28 years.
