Authorities at Bridgewater State University are asking for the public's help in finding a sexual assault suspect.

Police say an 18-year-old female freshman student was sexually assaulted Monday night after agreeing to meet a man near the Rondileau Campus Center. The woman was meeting the man for the first time after talking with him on a popular social media smartphone app.

Bridgewater Police have released a composite image and a description of the suspect.

A university spokeswoman says campus police are increasing the number of uniformed and plainclothes patrols and that police are reviewing surveillance footage.

Students received an email notifying them of the assault, which included tips on how to stay safe.
