The Attorney General's office has received 19 consumer complaints about the closing of Normand's Meat on Acushnet Ave in New Bedford without warning, leaving a number of meat club members without their products and money.

According to published reports, Cindy Pinel of Dartmouth, a meat club secretary, filed a consumer complaint on line with the AG's office in an effort have one thousand dollars in meat certificates redeemed on behalf of her members.

A spokesperson for the Attorney General declined comment on any possible actions against Normand's Meat and didn't specify what sum would  trigger involvement by the state but suggested more people who have lost money should come forward.
