The soft drink giant, Coca-Cola is halting its brand advertising in the Philippines so that it can donate its entire advertising budget to typhoon relief efforts. So far, the company has donated 2.5 million in cash and in-kind contributions, like bottled water. The death count for Typhoon Haiyan has passed 5,000 and 1,611 still remain missing. The rebuilding of their infrastructure, houses, schools, roads and bridges could be about 6 billion dollars. While most of the world is applauding Coke's efforts, some critics are saying that suspending ads is a marketing ploy in and of itself. What do you think? I say, Coke is the real thing!
