The Coast Guard rescues a New Bedford fisherman at sea.

According to the Coast Guard, a 30-year-old crew member of the New Bedford-based fishing vessel Sao Paulo, was suffering from severe back and stomach pain.

The Coast Guard dispatched a rescue helicopter from the Cape Cod Air Station to the vessel's location about 100 miles southeast of Nantucket about 6pm Wednesday night.

The man, who's name is not being released, was medflighted to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. His condition is not known at this time.
